My partner, Dawn Harris, and I have just submitted our application form to join the Club and are looking forward to joining - subject to Vice-Captain's interview of course!
Dawn was a member a few years ago and has her name on the mixed doubles board with her former husband, John, in 1993.
I am a complete newby to golf having been to several ranges perfecting my technique (the hat and golf shirt looks good but I am not sure about the trousers, lol 
) and played a few rounds at Llany (as my son calls it - Llanyrafon municipal course).
Having called in last Sunday - Dawn had to convince me that there was in fact a golf course down that very narrow lane - we found the members to be very hospitable and friendly. The club house looked fantastic and I am looking forward to sampling some of the excellent fayre - although I am supposed to be on a diet.

Welcome BlogPosted by Pontnewydd GC Fri, May 09, 2008 15:11:08Well, we finally have our website up and running, and we're pretty pleased with it so far. As with anything like this it will take time to get everything right, and by then we'll be making it newer, and better.
Anyone who visits the site can now post comments on this and future blogs. So, this is our welcome blog - please feel free to post your comments about the site so far, and what you would like to see on it in the future.
All members of the club can request an invite to the Captain's Blog by sending an email to info@pontnewyddgolf.co.uk which will allow them to add messages as well as comments to the blog.
(Just send an email stating your email address which you will use to log on to the Blog and you will be sent an invite which will then allow you to set up your profile)
